Democrat Governor Wants To Suspend Elections

Yes you read the title right, according to The DC, Democratic Governor Bev Purdue wants to suspend elections so that the Government can deal with the economic crisis:

"As a way to solve the national debt crisis, North Carolina Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue recommends suspending Congressional elections for the next couple of years.

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,” Perdue said at a rotary club event in Cary, North Carolina, according to the Raleigh News and Observer. “I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”

Perdue said she thinks that temporarily halting elections would allow members of Congress to focus on the economy. “You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things,” Perdue said."

Next thing you know the Democrats will be suggesting we imprison all those who oppose Obama's "Jobs" bill since they are contributing to the "Crisis".

Wow... Am I living in Orwell's 1984?

This isn’t a surprise. We’ll probably hear more calls for election suspensions as the economic crisis worsens and other crises emerge. We are on the edge of losing representative government. It’s debatable whether we have it now. Super Congress is another example. These are the same people who created and/or are incapable of fixing the mess we’re in. Now they want something like dictatorial control. There’s probably a historical pattern here.
