Mitt Romney On Entitlements: "I Want To Make Sure We Can Keep Those Programs"
During what appears to be an outdoor "Town Hall" in Iowa, Mitt Romney dodges a question on the fact Congress gives itself a raise and then goes on to say that he wants to make sure that we keep the entitlement programs.
The crowd turns a bit ugly as an angry man who believes in raising taxes begins to get a bit irate.
Oddly after Mitt says he wants to keep entitlements he then goes on to say that about half of federal spending is entitlements. He seems to be under the impression that we can keep the entitlements by restricting the rich people's access to them.
But yet the "rich" don't compromise the majority of people who use the "entitlements" and therefore those cuts would be minimal and ineffective at best.
Fine cut the benefits for the wealthy... but that isn't going to balance the budget.
