AFL-CIO President Trumka to Embrace Communist Party as New Allies?

The Connecticut AFL-CIO President, John Olsen, recently attended the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) Amistad Awards Ceremony where during his acceptance speech (According to CPUSA News) he said:

"Anyone who stands with me for workers' rights, I stand with them," said John Olsen to loud applause as he acknowledged the Communist Party and took a strong stand against fear mongering and baiting, including the anti-socialist baiting of President Barack Obama."

But instead of AFL-CIO President, Richard Trumka, condemning Mr. Olsen's actions, Trumka has embraced his philosophy.

According to an Article in the CPUSA News, People's World, during a recent speech to the Auto Workers legislative conference Trumka said the AFL-CIO must build Wider Coalitions to Survive:

"We have to build alliances and real partnerships with brothers and sisters in other unions, with members of our communities, with small businesses, with the faith community, with anyone else who shares our collective values and is willing to work for them," he declared."

Does the "Anyone Else" Mr. Trumka refers to include the Communist Party USA?

If you ask Mr. Olsen in Connecticut, it does.
