It is written by David Weigel and could not be more inaccurate if he tried, well then again maybe that was his point.
But I Digress, lets begin to pick apart this ridiculous excuse for an Op ed shall we? Here is the Article:
"I like to keep track of fables and narratives within the tea party movement, and we learned of a new one this week -- the story of the "SWAT team" called out to threaten tea partyers in Quincy, Ill. In the words of Jim Hoft, the Gateway Pundit:
The SWAT Team was called in today at the Quincy Tea Party Rally ... local Quincy Tea Party Leader Steve McQueen was directing protesters when the SWAT team was called in.
The only problem with that? The SWAT team wasn't called in. Local police, wearing riot gear, briefly marched down the street to clear it for the president's motorcade."
Ok the Only Problem, no wait, the tons of problems with that Mr. Weigel is this...
The Local Police wearing Riot Gear were not there to "Clear" the Street for the President's Motorcade. The Motorcade entered and exited on two sides streets next to the street we were "allowed" to stand on. That Street where we were located was Blocked off . Besides..... The Riot Police Showed up AFTER the President was already inside. Their Purpose was to "assist" the Tea Partiers into returning to their original protest spots, which we were already doing without the appearance of the men in Black.
Mr. Weigel Continues:
"UPDATE: More details from John Cook.
The story, from the Quincy Herald Whig.
There were a few tense moments when the crowd moved west down York toward Third Street after the president's motorcade arrived. A Secret Service agent asked the crowd to move back across the street to the north side.
When the crowd didn't move and began singing "God Bless, America" and the national anthem, Quincy Deputy Police Chief Ron Dreyer called for members of the Mobile Field Force to walk up the street.
The officers, mainly from Metro East departments near St. Louis and dressed in full body armor, marched from the east and stood on the south side of York facing the protesters.
There was no physical contact, and the officers did not come close to the crowd, but there were catcalls and more than a few upset tea party members, including a woman who shouted, "This is communism!"
Hmm More inaccurate info Mr. Weigel.
First there were no real "Tense" moments as far as the crowd was concerned. They just wanted to make sure that the President could see them on the Street Protesting his Policies since he seems to ignore them pretty well when he is in Washington D.C. Which is why they gravitated towards the side street that the President's motorcade just arrived on.
Second, the reason that the majority of the People stayed where they were is because the Secret Service Agents were Yelling without the use of a Bull Horn. The majority of the people present were not even aware that the Secret Service ordered anyone anywhere because they COULD NOT HEAR THEM. Its hard to Yell at 200 people and have a quarter of them hear you, let alone all of them.
Maybe if the Government would properly equip their employees this incident would not even be a story today. Because when McQueen, the leader of the Quincy Tea Party, used his BULLHORN to inform everyone that they need to return to their former protest area, guess what? They went back peacefully at the same time when the Riot Police where getting into position.
Also the Riot Police Did come within Feet of the Protesters, which you would see if you watched my video. But then again that might require you, Mr. Weigel, to look at something other than the spoon fed Mainstream Media.
"McQueen also assisted in asking people to step back to the north side of York. The crowd moved back, the officers stayed for about 15 minutes and left, and there were no other incidents.
The video of cops in riot gear walking down the street in formation is more weird than threatening. But the sexed-up version of this story is so good that HotAir headlines it "SWAT team outside Obama event beats back geriatric tea-party hordes," even though the blog's own take on the story is less intense.
This isn’t a SWAT team, actually, just local cops in riot gear, but it is the first time I’ve ever seen police in armor do a jaunty little parade down the street when responding to an event. I assure you, when the NYPD rolls up in helmets and shields, they’re all business.
You'll see these photos again, with or without the story of "SWAT teams" battling back average Americans. (It's very important, for some reason, that Hoft point out that most of the protesters were elderly white women.) If tea partyers want to oppose actual police state SWAT tactics, though -- and not just make overheated arguments about the looming "communism" of Barack Obama -- I'd point them to the work of Radley Balko."
Wow, Mr. Weigel I think your Hate of the Tea Parties is showing in your lack of actual in depth investigative reporting. More inaccuracies, ......where do I begin....?
First no where does anyone that was actually there claim that we were being battled anywhere.
It was a form of intimidation....
The Riot Police were used to "encourage", or intimidate, us to return to the original Protest Spot or face their mighty, night stick wielding wrath. But the Secret Service took it a step further when the agent in my Video ordered McQueen and the Riot Police to "push them back and out of sight." It was a bit odd that after we had returned to our side of the street peacefully that the Agent insisted we get off the corner of the street (that we have been standing on for hours before) and pack us in like cattle in a smaller area. So the Riot Police were indeed used to intimidate us to do the bidding of the Secret Service only because they did not have the proper gear, like McQueen did, to inform the Public of their wishes.
That is what is amazing about this incident, that Riot Police would be called out on Peaceful Protesters who were happy and willing to obey the orders of the authorities present if they could only HEAR THEM.
In Reality the Authorities overreacted and instead of Calling out the Riot Squad, they should have just borrowed a Bull Horn.
Oh by the Way Mr. Weigel, the reason why the Gateway Pundit pointed out that the crowd contained elderly white women is because THERE WERE elderly white women.
If the Riot Police would have forced the crowd in anyway, they would have been beating and tear gassing the elderly in the group as well as the young kids, men and women.
Then I think my Video, and your Inaccurate Article, would be totally different...
Mine would be titled:
"Tragedy in Quincy as Peaceful Tea Party Members are Beaten by Riot Squad".
I think your Article would be Titled:
"Myth about Tea Party Beating : Elderly White Tea Party Women throw themselves at Night Sticks of Riot Squad, Police Watch in Horror as Young Tea Party Kids Tear Gas Themselves."
Mr. Weigel I Understand that Perception is Reality.....
Might I suggest, in the Future, you use more Reality...
And Less of Your Biased Perception...

I was wondering how long it would take for this Video to be yanked from the Internet. It appears that Crayola has had this video yanked in about 24 hours.
If you did not see this Video it was a parody of someone pretending to be the CEO of Crayola who was thanking and making fun of the Tea Party and they way we make our signs. At one point the video insinuated that we are racist and illiterate.
It appears at least that Crayola had enough class to force the removal of the video.

Revenue is the entire amount of income before expenses are paid.
Profit is what is left over after expenses are paid.

The Tea Party does NOT do anything even close to this now, but yet we are described as "Threats to the Nation" and "Racist".

"In its new report titled, "Meet the Patriots," the Southern Poverty Law Center states: "In the last year and a half, militias and the larger antigovernment 'patriot' movement have exploded, accompanied by the rapid expansion of other sectors of the radical right. This spectacular growth is the result of several factors, including anger over major political, demographic and economic changes in America, along with the popularization of radical ideas and conspiracy theories by ostensibly mainstream politicians and media commentators."
It defines "patriots" as "people who generally believe that the federal government is an evil entity that is engaged in a secret conspiracy to impose martial law, herd those who resist into concentration camps, and force the United States into a socialistic 'New World Order.'"
The report calls Fox News host Glenn Beck "the Ringmaster"of the movement, noting, "With his weepy, chalkboard-scrawling appeals to Americans fearful that their government is leading them down the path to ruin, Glenn Beck has rocketed up the ladder of conservative icons and is using his popularity to directly shape a far-right resurgence."
Regarding Bachmann, the Republican congresswoman from Minnesota, the report says, "When it comes to spreading fear of a menacing federal government infested with anti-American elements, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann can give even the most paranoid militiaman a run for his money."
WND Editor Joseph Farah is described as "a leading fomenter of the baseless claim that President Obama was not born in Hawaii, but in Africa, and so is not qualified to be president." It also says he could not be reached for comment."

"Chomsky, fascism and the working class
by: Teresa Albano
April 21 2010
Famed linguistics professor and left-wing icon Noam Chomsky made remarks recently that gave me pause.
Chomsky, 81, said he recalls the rise of Hitler in Germany, and recent political developments like the tea party movement bring him back to that frightening time.
"I have a memory of the texture and the tone of the cheering mobs, and I have the dread sense of the dark clouds of fascism gathering," Chomsky said.
He warned left and progressive people that "[r]idiculing the tea party shenanigans is a serious error." I couldn't agree more.
But, on other things, I couldn't agree less.
Chomsky was off-base in implying the tea party is a working-class phenomenon. It's true that, as he said, there is a "class" resentment among the tea party movement, and the context is the devastating economic crisis and wealth gap that exists in the United States. Undoubtedly there are working-class people among the tea partiers. But the working class does not make up the majority of this movement. Nor does this movement represent working-class interests.
In a recent poll, it was wealthier and more educated Americans, more than others, who identify with the tea party anti-government, anti-Obama rhetoric.
The U.S. working class is a multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-ethnic, multi-generational, multi-sex class. In my opinion, the broadly-defined view of working class is anyone who has to work for a living. The mono-racial (virtually all white) tea party movement represents corporate and wealthy America's "anti-government" interests, like no taxes on capital gains, or no regulations on pollution, etc. To suggest that this movement is an expression of working class resentment distorts who makes up the social base of fascism.
Fascism springs from the ruling elite, which through their extensive media apparatus, etc., attempts to influence the great majority of working people. And it's the use of racism, in the first place, along with anti-Semitism, immigrant-bashing, homophobia and anti-woman and anti-union attacks, along with anti-government, quasi-religious demagogy, that is the ideological backbone of a fascist movement in America. At a time of mass unemployment, they use racism and anti-immigrant rhetoric to let corporate America off the hook.
Chomsky argued that in the "popular" mind President Obama, the nation's first Black president, is associated with the banking industry and Wall Street. He claimed the administration is ineffective and could be on the verge of collapse, like the Weimar Republic that preceded the Nazi takeover of Germany.
But, first of all, it was not the Weimar Republic that put Hitler in power. Hitler came to power with a nod and wink from the highest levels of German capital.
Fascism - as a system - comes out of the most reactionary sectors of capital. In our country, energy and oil, finance and military capital lead the way and the Republicans are their political party of choice. The most reactionary sector, when most threatened, will consider a suspension of democratic rights, and implementation of a terror-based system of government - with no rights for unions, women, racial/national/religious/sexual minorities, etc.
Chomsky ignores the substantial measures the Obama administration is trying to take to rein in the banks and curb their power, and the bitter opposition campaign being waged by the Republicans and Wall Street.
Republicans have shut down the government, invited in corporate lobbyists to actually write bills and now have turned into the "Party of No" in blocking any reforms.
By ignoring this reality, Chomsky weakens the fighting ability of the democratic movement. After all, if Obama is like the Republicans, and only represents Wall Street, why bother fighting side by side with the administration?
While many of Obama's reform efforts, like the health care law, are not nearly as radical as many of us on the left would advocate, they do represent a step forward, crucial for mobilizing and unifying the class and social forces necessary to prevent any fascist takeover.
There was another speech given recently on anger in America. This one was by Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO and former mineworker, at Harvard University. I thought his speech sought to unify the class, to clarify who is to blame for the economic crisis, and to mobilize, alongside, not against, Obama in order to win reforms that can improve the lives of all people, as well as lay the basis for a more progressive political atmosphere.
Trumka said reactionary forces use divisive "racist and homophobic hate" to channel "justifiable anger" about the wealth gap towards President Obama and "heroes like Congressman John Lewis" and "to divide working people."
He called on the "progressive tradition" of working people in action "organizing unions and organizing to elect public officials committed to bold action to address economic suffering."
It is that kind of rousing vision of unity and action that can block any move towards fascism"

“The response of the BUYcott of Ford has been wonderful,” said Gina Loudon, “we have had offers of rebates from dealers, accolades from Ford employees, and many receipts coming in as patriots take this opportunity to express their support for our one remaining privately owned American car maker.”
Loudon has had interest from many other Tea Party groups from around the Country, as well as radio shows announcing the BUYcott on their stations.
“The only problem is that this economy does not permit every person to go out and purchase a car. One patriot, Glenn Wiggins wrote me and said this:
“I love your idea and it's implementation...but why not take it up a notch?
In addition to buying a Ford as your next car or truck buy the company,
what if everybody in the Tea Party bought Ford shares of stock?
We could prevent the company from taking financial help from the
Government and keep it from becoming GM and Chrysler…”
Loudon said, “So, we are suggesting that every American Patriot purchase one share (or more) of stock and express their confidence and patriotism with an investment in the last remaining American named car company. As always, we would like to have copies of receipts so we can keep a tally of the patriotic BUYcott.”
“We hope this will send a strong message to Washington DC that we do not want their bail outs, their buy outs, or their interference in our free market any longer!”
“Additionally,” Loudon noted that “if every member of the Tea Party bought 100 shares of stock, then the Conservative movement could eventually own the only remaining American Car Company.”
"Internet surfers who entered "Goldman Sachs SEC" into Google were directed to the president's campaign Web site via a sponsored link titled "Help Change Wall Street."

"New bill calls for Afghanistan withdrawal
by: Marilyn Bechtel April 19 2010
A bipartisan bill calling for a plan and a timetable to withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan was introduced into Congress April 14 by Senator Russ Feingold, D-Wis., with Representatives Jim McGovern, D-Mass. and Walter Jones, R-N.C.
The measure calls on the president to submit to Congress a plan for the "safe, orderly and expeditious" withdrawal of military forces and military-related contractors, with a timetable to complete the redeployment, and then to report progress to Congress every 90 days. It does not set a specific date for withdrawal.
The measure expresses concern that a "massive, open-ended" U.S. military presence in Afghanistan is unlikely to advance efforts to combat Al Qaeda, and could even be counterproductive.
Rather than engage in nation-building there, the bill says, the U.S. should start cutting troop levels and shift to a "sustainable counterterrorism policy."
Writing on Congress Blog, Feingold called for "a comprehensive global counterterrorism strategy" emphasizing "security sector reform, human rights, economic development, transparency, good governance, accountability and the rule of law," instead of putting so many military resources into Afghanistan.
In a telephone interview, Jim Fine, legislative secretary for foreign policy at the Friends Committee on National Legislation, called the bill "the next step that Congress could take to put the U.S. on a course of de-escalation and withdrawal from Afghanistan."
The 138 votes garnered by Rep. McGovern's earlier measure for an exit strategy may have encouraged President Obama to name a date to begin a transition in Afghanistan, Fine said, adding that floor speeches supporting Rep. Dennis Kucinich's resolution to withdraw U.S. troops also "helped push us in the direction of de-escalation and withdrawal."
Fine said building co-sponsorship is vital to assure a vote, possibly in connection with the supplemental funding bill expected next month.
"We should not underestimate the importance of this step-by-step, relentless push to persuade Congress to recognize popular sentiment and insist the administration wind this war down," he said.
Peace Action policy and organizing director Paul Kawika Martin said he also sees the new bill as an important step on the road to ending the war in Afghanistan. While defeat of supplemental funding is unlikely, he said, "there may be enough people willing to say, ‘It's great the president said he will begin drawing down the troops in July of next year, but we also need an end date.'"
Other peace organizations also back the Feingold-McGovern-Jones measure.
"The military dominated approach to Afghanistan needs to be checked and balanced by Congress, and this bill marks their first step toward taking that responsibility seriously," Win Without War said in a statement. "Pouring more U.S. troops into Afghanistan does not make us safer. In fact, it only adds fuel to the fire. It's time to close our open-ended military commitment to the corrupt Karzai government."
Just Foreign Policy spokesperson Robert Naiman said in a statement that the bill can also help encourage a negotiated political settlement in Afghanistan. "So long as the United States refuses to agree to a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. forces, a political solution is almost surely impossible," he said. "As soon as the United States is willing to agree to a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. forces, a political solution is increasingly likely."
Rep. Jones co-sponsored Rep. McGovern's earlier measure and was among five Republicans to support Rep. Kucinich's call last month for U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. Senator Feingold has repeatedly called for a timetable for U.S. withdrawal.
Last year Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., introduced a measure to bar funding for sending more troops to Afghanistan."

"I got a press release from Chicago DSA(Democratic Socialist of America), the University of Chicago Young Democratic Socialists and the University of Chicago Young Democrats. Those three groups were jointly sponsoring an event titled "Employent and the Survival in Urban America". And the featured speaker was a candidate for the Illinois State Senate. I remember thinking at the time, that someone with the name of , Barack Obama, will have a very hard time getting elected to anything."
According to the DSA Article on Chicago DSA.org, one Barack Obama did indeed speak at this event:
"Over three hundred people attended the first of two Town Meetings on Economic Insecurity on February 25 in Ida Noyes Hall at the University of Chicago. Entitled "Employment and Survival in Urban America", the meeting was sponsored by the UofC DSA Youth Section, Chicago DSA and University Democrats. The panelists were Toni Preckwinkle, Alderman of Chicago's 4th Ward; Barack Obama, candidate for the 13th Illinois Senate District; Professor William Julius Wilson, Center for the Study of Urban Inequality at the University of Chicago; Professor Michael Dawson, University of Chicago; and Professor Joseph Schwartz, Temple University and a member of DSA's National Political Committee."
While no video of Barack Obama's speech exists, this is the first recorded admission by anyone that it actually took place. The fact that it comes from the mouth of the Democratic Socialists of America themselves is all the more damning.
This is not New News but it will be new to many of my readers and maybe awaken a few to what we are actually facing with the Progressive movement.

He even explains how if the benefits from a Health Care Bill will be activated as soon as possible after being passed, it would be very hard for the Republicans to roll it back.
This is ironic since President Obama has said this about the Health Care Reform law:
"So, before we find out if people like health care reform, we should wait to see what happens when we actually put it into place."
After watching is video it makes me wonder if this man is somehow an "advisor" to the President. He would make a nice replacement for Van Jones.

Phil "I Don't Worry about the Constitution" Hare is a member of the DSA Supported Congressional Progressive Caucus
After this Video Mr. hare released this in order to explain his statement:
But oddly enough Congressmen Phil Hare failed mention one Minor detail.
He is a one of 70 members in Congress that belong to the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Now why would being a member of a Congressional Caucus be a bad thing.
Well according to discoverthenetworks.com the founding of the Congressional Progressive Caucus has an interesting history:
"The Progressive Caucus is an organization of Members of Congress founded in
1991 by newly-elected House Representative Bernie Sanders (Independent-Vermont), who is a self-described socialist.
As of April 2007, the Progressive Caucus included Sanders (who became a U.S. Senator in 2006), Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio, and 69 members of the House of Representatives, all of them leftist Democrats and almost all in districts heavily gerrymandered to guarantee the re-election of any Democratic Party incumbent, no matter how extreme.
On November 11, 1999, the Progressive Caucus drafted its Position Paper on economic inequality. It reads, in part, as follows: "Economic inequality is the result of two and a half decades of government policies and rules governing the economy being tilted in favor of large asset owners at the expense of wage earners. Tax policy, trade policy, monetary policy, government regulations and other rules have reflected this pro-investor bias. We propose the introduction or reintroduction of a package of legislative initiatives that will close America's economic divide and address both income and wealth disparities. … The concentration of wealth is a problem because it distorts our democracy, destabilizes the economy and erodes our social and cultural
In order "to bring new life to the progressive voice in U.S. politics," the Progressive Caucus has worked closely with Progressive Challenge, a project of the Institute for Policy Studies. Progressive Challenge is a coalition through which the activities and talking points of leftist groups are synchronized and harmonized with one another, producing coordinated, mutually-reinforcing propaganda from
some 200 seemingly-unconnected groups.
In 2005 the Progressive Caucus crafted its "Progressive Promise" document, which advocates socialized medicine; radical environmentalism; the redistribution of wealth; higher taxes; the elimination of numerous provisions of the Patriot Act; dramatic reductions in the government's intelligence-gathering capabilities; debt relief for poor countries; and the quick withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. These measures, says the Progressive Caucus, would help "re-build U.S. alliances around the world, restore international respect for American power and influence, and reaffirm our nation's constructive engagement in the United Nations and other multilateral organizations."
Discover the Networks even says that the Progressive Caucus had connections to the Democratic Socialist of America:
"Until 1999 the Progressive Caucus worked in open partnership with
Democratic Socialists of America. After the press reported on this link, the connections suddenly vanished from both organizations' websites."
Luckily I discovered that the Democratic Socialists of America(DSA) did not "scrub" their website completely. Here is a quote from a DSA article that discusses how some "Insurgent Politicians" may run under the banner of Democrats and are in the Congressional Progressive Caucus:
"DSA recognizes that some insurgent politicians representing labor, environmentalists, gays and lesbians, and communities of color may choose to run under Democratic auspices, as in the 1988 Jesse Jackson campaign, or operate as Democrats like Senator Paul Wellstone, and the 59 Democratic members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, one-half of whom are Black and Latino and all of whom possess strong labor backing and operative social democratic politics.
Electoral tactics are only a means for DSA; the building of a powerful anti-corporate and ultimately socialist movement is the end."
So it would appear that Congressmen Phil Hare's belief that he will not "worry about the Constitution" is because like all Good Socialists they think it is an old and outdated document that needs to be replaced or interpreted out of existence.
Is there any wonder why Mr. Hare answered the question the way he did?

Here is a part of an article from World Net Daily news that describes the File that was destroyed on Obama's grandfather and his connections to Communist, Frank Marshall Davis:
The FBI previously released some 600 pages of the FBI file of Frank Marshall Davis, the Chicago -based journalist and poet who as a member of the Communist Party USA retired in Hawaii and befriended Dunham.
Obama frequently sought advice from Davis during the future president's elementary and high school years.
Until the FBI's response to the FOIA request, there was no public disclosure of the existence of a file on Obama's grandfather.
The file raises the question whether the FBI considered Dunham to be a national security risk, possibly because of his association with Davis.
WND previously reported Davis, frequently accompanied by young Obama and his grandfather, sold marijuana and cocaine from a Chicago-style hot dog cart Davis operated near his home on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki in the early 1970s.
Cliff Kincaid, president of American Survival, filed the FOIA request, only to be informed by David M. Hardy, FBI section chief for record/information dissemination in the records management division, that no information was available on Dunham's file because it had been destroyed. Kincaid is also editor of Accuracy in Media's AIM Report.
WND contacted the FBI but received no response to a request for comment on this story.
Grandpa introduced Obama to Davis
London Telegraph Washington correspondent Toby Harnden reported in an Aug. 22, 2008, article that Dunham first introduced Obama to Davis when Obama was only 10 years old.
As WND previously reported, the Obama 2008 campaign admitted in a published response to the New York Times No. 1 best-selling book "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" that Davis was the "Frank" that Obama mentioned in his autobiography "Dreams from My Father."
The 2008 Obama campaign's published reply to "The Obama Nation," titled "Unfit for Publication," objected that Davis was not a "mentor" to the future president, arguing "Dreams from My Father" characterized Davis "as a figure from his youth who 'fell short' and whose view of race was 'incurable.'"
However, in "Dreams from My Father," Obama himself tells readers he was listening to Davis' advice right up until the time Obama left Hawaii to attend college in California."
