A Couple of days ago I read a Blog on Fox that a Bill has been introduced that would remove the term limit on the Office of President. I didn't have time to confirm it, until now. As this quote from World Net Daily confirms the story is true.
"Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill,
H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill's language, proposes "an
amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second
article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an
individual may serve as President."
Now to be fair, this Ya Ho Serrano has put this type of bill forward before and it was shot down. But naturally doing this right before Barak's Inaugural makes it a bit more concerning. Thomas Jefferson showed concern about a lack of term limits on the office of President. He felt that without a set term limit, either by law or honorable practice, that the office of President would fall into a habit of inheritance, even a monarchy.
Let us hope that the Obama Fever does not lead to the blind elimination of the term limits.
If it does I fear that there will be a vocal uprising, or maybe God forbid........a Civil War.
